Dance at the Goose Creek Recreation Complex!

Dance Schedule:  12 Weeks January – April 2023

Instructed by:  Theresa Griffith and her staff.  Theresa is the owner of Top Cheer Talent, Cheer/Dance Chorographer and Cheer Coach at Charleston Southern University.  Theresa has over 17 years cheer/dance experience!

Monday:  Jan. 23, 30, Feb 6, 13, 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 17 & 24 (no class Feb. 20 & April 10th)

4 – 4:50 pm        Cheer Dance age 3 – 5

5 – 5:50 pm        Ballet & Tap age 3 – 5

6 – 6:50 pm        Ballet/Jazz/Lyrical age 6 – 11

7 – 7:50 pm        Cheer Dance age 12 & up 

 

Tuesday:  Jan. 17, 24, 31, Feb 7, 21, 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28, April 18 & 25 (no class Feb 14 & April 4 & 11)

4 – 4:50 pm        Hip Hop age 6 – 11

5 – 5:50 pm        Cheer dance 6 & up

 

Wednesday: Jan 18, 25, Feb 1, 8, 15, 22, March 8, 15, 22, 29, April 19 & 26 (no class March 1 & April 5 & 12th)

4 – 4:50 pm        Cheer Dance age 6 & up

5 – 5:50 pm        Hip Hop 10 & up

 

Thursday: Jan. 19, 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 23, March 9, 16, 23, 30, April 20 & 27th (no class March 2 & April 6 & 13)

3 – 3:50 pm        Ballet & Tap Age 3 – 5

4 – 4:50 pm        Jazz Age 6 – 12

 

Ballet/Tap for ages 3-5: 

Introduction to ballet and tap fundamentals and movement.

Dance Attire: Pink tights and a leotard (skirts are optional) with pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes. Hair bun or ponytail.

Cheer/dance description:  Dancers will learn the basics of cheer motions and dances, facial expressions, and a little bit of sass.

Cheer/dance attire: Clothes that are easy to move in but will not get in the way:  t-shirts, athletic shorts, and leggings.  Shoes:  light tennis shoes or cheer shoes. Hair should be in a ponytail with ribbon or bow.

 

Jazz description:

Dancers will learn the basics of jazz and will build on those skills to allow dancers to learn more complex skills.

Jazz attire: Clothes that allow movement but do not restrict dancing: leggings, t-shirt, and leotard. Footwear: jazz shoes or lyrical half soles.  Hair worn in a bun.

Tap description: Dancers will learn the fundamental movement of tap dance and build on these basic skills to learn more complex skills.

Tap attire: Clothes that allow movement:  Leggings, t-shirt, and leotard. Footwear: tap shoes.  Hair worn in a bun.

 

Ballet description:

Dancers will learn the basics of ballet such as feet positions, arm placement, and balance and build on basics to learn more complex skills.
Ballet attire: pink tights and a leotard (skirts are optional) with pink ballet slippers. Hair worn in a bun.

Lyrical description: Dancers will learn jazz-based techniques with influences from ballet and how to express emotions when dancing.
Lyrical attire: Clothes that allow movement: leggings, t-shirt, leotards, and sweatpants. Footwear: ballet shoes, jazz shoes, or lyrical half soles.  Hair worn in a bun.

 

Hip Hop:

 Learn fun new hip hop moves.  Class attire:  Clothes that allow movement:  Leggings, t-shirt, shorts, leotards and sweatpants.  Footwear:  Sneakers
