Tennis Lessons for Youth!

Session Dates:

Session 2 – March 1st – April 12th (Rain Date 4/19)

Session 3 – April 26th – June 14th (Rain Date 6/21) (No tennis on Memorial Day, 5/31)

 

Beginner: 

Mondays

3:30-4:30 PM

Ages 6-9

$80/resident/ $90/non-resident

Students will continue to develop their motor skills and general athletic skills. Basic techniques will be introduced for ground strokes, and serves, and students will learn simple footwork while tracking the ball. Participants will learn the first stages of cooperative tennis through self and partner rallying skills. Beginners will be played on a 36- foot court using red low compression balls. A 21 or 23 inch racket is appropriate for this class. 

Beginner/Advanced Beginners: 

Mondays

4:30-5:30PM

Ages 9-12

$80/resident/ $90/non-resident 

Students will continue to develop their strokes & rallying skills while using individual, paired and team activities which will aid in developing both cooperative and competitive skills. During this clinic, students will transition from the 36-ft court to the 60- ft court using both red & orange transition balls. A 23 or 25 inch racket is appropriate for this class.

Advanced:

Mondays

5:30-7:00PM 

Ages: 14-18

$105/resident/ $120/non-resident 

This clinic is geared towards High School or Tournament level tennis players.  Participants should already possess solid stroke fundamentals and have some match play experience.  This clinic will focus mainly on singles and doubles point play strategy as well as advanced stroke techniques.

Intermediates:

Days: Thursdays

Session I: January 7th-February 18th (rain date 2/22)

Session II:  March 4th-April 15th (rain date 4/22)

Session III: April 29th- June 10th  (rain date 6/17)

Ages 10-14

4:00-5:00 

$80/resident/ $90/non-resident

Students in this clinic will have played some tennis and will be comfortable with both the forehand and backhand fundamentals, as well as sustaining a short rally within the service boxes. In this clinic, students will continue to improve their stroke fundamentals, learn how to serve, and become confident rallying from further back in the court. Participants will learn basic tennis rules and also become familiar with the scoring system. Initially this clinic will be played on a 60ft court using orange balls, with some students progressing the 78ft court using green & yellow tennis balls.
