City of Goose Creek

Kelly J. Lovette, MMC, is the City of Goose Creek City Clerk.

Born in Charleston, Kelly is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who has served as City Clerk since September 1998. She has over 33 years of experience in federal, state and municipal government. 

Kelly is the first city clerk to receive certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk and Master Municipal Clerk in Goose Creek's history. She is an active member of the South Carolina Municipal Finance Officers, Clerks and Treasurers Association since 1999, serving on its board from 2004 to 2010, and as President of its board of directors in 2008-2009. She was awarded that organization's Professional Achievement Award in 2012, in recognition of her dedicated service to municipal government.

A 2010 graduate of Leadership Berkeley, Kelly has been a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks since 1999, and recently served as its Region 3 Director. She has served as a South Carolina Notary Public since 1996, and was City of Goose Creek Employee of the Year in 2005.
