Augusto Uriona
  • CU junior enjoying City internship

  • Apr 15 2024

Augusto Uriona is a Clemson University junior, and a Creek Compass intern at City Hall. Augusto, who grew up in northern Virginia near Washingon, DC, is an Architecture major at CU with a minor in Spanish. Clemson matches students with businesses and organizations for internships, and Augusto has been a terrific addition to Goose Creek!

He began his college career as a biology major before following in his dad’s footsteps with a switch to Architecture. The City’s amphitheater project has given him the opportunity to talk with architects and contractors, while getting a first-hand look at the construction site – complete with a hard hat.

Augusto says the hands-on experiences have been great. “This is my second internship, but the first where I’m really getting hands-on experience to practice my studies,” he said. He also thanked everyone in the office who has helped him learn and grow. He plans to attend grad school in New York, Chicago or Virginia after becoming a licensed architect.

Thanks for the visit, Augusto, and keep up the good work!
