Mark your calendars! The 2017 Goose Creek BBQ Festival is less than one month away. The event is set for 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, and will take place behind the Municipal Center.

The festival features games, activities, food vendors -- and plenty of great tasting barbecue. The popular Backyard BBQ Cook-off begins at 3 p.m., and awards will be giving, including a People's Choice honor chosen by attendees.

The band "Bootless" is the featured entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair. No outside coolers or pets are allowed.

The festival is sponsored by Goose Creek Heating and Air. The Kids Area is sponsored by Palmetto Kids Dentistry and Orthodontics.
