RePower South
  • Residents no longer need to pay for recycling

  • Jun 24 2019

Goose Creek residents who currently pay Republic Services for recycling no longer need to do so, thanks to a new recycling operation in Berkeley County.

The County’s new, state-of-the-art recycling facility is now processing all waste in Berkeley County. The facility, which is run by RePower South, automatically separates recyclable material from the trash. Trash that cannot be recycled will be taken to the county landfill.

City of Goose Creek sanitation services will not be affected by this change, nor will any trash pick-up dates be changed.

Berkeley County’s contract with Republic Services will not be renewed after Aug. 31, 2019, as the County has fully transitioned to RePower South for its recycling program.

Read a release from Berkeley County about these changes.
