The City of Goose Creek is now offering free Wi-Fi through the new Goose Creek Free Wi-Fi Network! Thank you for using The City of Goose Creek’s Wireless Access. The City of Goose Creek would like to remind you of a few items to keep in mind while using this service:

 

Goose Creek Wireless Access is a public Wi-Fi network. This means that it is also an open network. If you have file sharing enabled on your computing system, others using Goose Creek Wireless Access will be able to retrieve and use those files.

 

The City of Goose Creek is not responsible for Internet cookies or viruses that are transferred to your computing device as a result of using Goose Creek Wireless Access. Goose Creek promises that it will not collect any data from wireless users, and users have the option to disable Internet cookies at any time.

 

Internet cookies are parcels of text sent by a server to a Web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server. HTTP cookies are used for authenticating, session tracking (state maintenance), and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences or the contents of their electronic shopping carts. In short, cookies are simple pieces of data that affect the operation of a web server, not the client, and do so in very specific ways.
