Planning Commission
The Planning Commission was established in October of 1995 by City Council, pursuant to Title 6, Chapter 29 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, the Comprehensive Planning Enabling Act of 1994. Article I of the City’s Zoning Ordinance expressly sets forth the roles and responsibilities of the Planning Commission which includes the implementation of the City’s comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan is intended to guide growth and development, while promoting the general welfare, health and safety of the community. The Functions, Powers, and Duties of the Commission are outlined in the City's Code of Ordinances.
