Capt. Dave Soderberg has been with the City of Goose Creek since 1993. He began his career in law enforcement with the US Army Military Police. Capt. Soderberg is the current State President of the South Carolina Police Benevolent Association and sits on the Board of Directors for the Southern States Police Benevolent Association.
As Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Commander, Capt. Soderberg is responsible for criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, evidence and the narcotics unit. He also serves as the Special Response & Tactics (SRT) Team Leader and the Department Safety Officer.
Capt. Soderberg considers his greatest accomplishment has been the work he does to assist and train others to succeed in the law enforcement profession. He is most proud of the accomplishments of officers who have worked with and for him who he has influenced in a positive way. He enjoys working for Goose Creek because of the community he serves, and the officers he has the pleasure to serve with.
Capt. Soderberg was the 1994 Berkeley County Law Enforcement Officer of the Year and the 1996 Goose Creek Police Department Employee of the Year.
