The Goose Creek Police Department is an internationally accredited agency as recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).  CALEA is an independent body that recommends 460 standards based on law enforcement best practices.  We are proud of our accredited status as it demonstrates our commitment to provide the most professional services possible to our community.

Our agency is staffed by 65 police officers and 26 civilian personnel, all devoted to providing timely, courteous, and professional services to the citizenry.  We pride ourselves on building trust based relationships with our citizens as we partner with them to prevent crime and identify and apprehend offenders.

Our policies and procedures are written to comply with applicable law and with the standards set by CALEA with consideration given to the principles of good character, as it is our character that guides our actions when no one else is looking.  We review and update our policies and procedures regularly as we find more efficient ways to carry out our mission.

Our officers are well-equipped and our vehicle fleet is both recent and well-maintained.  We emphasize the use of technology both in our enforcement and service efforts.  Our internal operations are streamlined with emphasis placed on quality and efficiency. No one demands more from us than we demand from ourselves.
